QING DYNASTY EMBROIDERED SILK TABLE SCREEN Up for this auction is a genuine antique table screen with embroidered silk material from Qing Dynasty. It was purchased from an antique shop at Hilton Hotel in Hong Kong in 1985. The purchase price was over $1,000. The wooden frame and pedestal with mother-of-pearl inlaid motif which typifies some Chinese furniture style in the mid 19 th century. The silk was embroidered with peacock and bird over pine trees. The workmanship is so exquisite as you can see from the photos. This table screen measures 14 ¾" in width 23 ½" in height and 7" in depth (the widest part of pedestal). It has stains on the silk embroidery material that is very common in nearly all tapestries of that age. T are several missing mother-of-pearls on the wooden frame and pedestal, but it doesn't affect the beauty of it. It will come with original "Certificate of Authenticity". This certificate was originally stuck on the back of the screen. Please feel free to ask questions before you place a bid. All sales are final.
