Welcome to Phoenix-Rose's Auctions! Please check My eBay store! Hello and thanks for visiting my items! I've been visiting my grandmother's in Wisconsin and cleaning out her basement. We've found many treasures that have been hidden for years, and are putting them up for others to enjoy. Please check my other items for lots more milk bottles and other vintage items! W possible, I'm including the age, history, and other information straight from my grandmother. Up for your bidding pleasure is a beautiful glass one quart (1 qt) milk bottle from Potosi Dairy farms in Potosi, Wisconsin. T are no dings or chips on this beautiful bottle. This has fabulous dark green printing on both sides - one side with Potosi Dairy Farms, Potosi Wis printed on it, and the other side with 3 beautiful square images. They are of two kids in 1950's style clothes in front of a chalk board that says "health" in cursive. The second is an older man with a suit jacket standing in front of a city scape. The third appears to be a movie star (a bit Greta Garbo -esque) at a party with a big bow at the neck of her blouse. In all 3 squares, the characters are drinking from tiny milk bottles with straws. Under these pictures is the prhase "No One ever outgrows the need for MILK". In addition to the fabulous dark green printing, the top of the bottle has a milk cap in it. The paper milk cap is slightly yellowed from age, but the color printing is blue and red and completely legible - not water damaged at all. It says "Pure Fresh Milk" in the center, with "wash and return bottles daily" at the top. Around the edges it says "for your protection, use seal right sanitary service". The milk cap has obviously been removed (t's a ding in one edge and it is slightly creased on the opposite side) but it's been replaced. I'm sure you could remove it, but why do so when it adds so much character and charm! The bottom of the bottle is embossed with "registered sealed 1-11-14", and says 1 quart liquid. I'm not sure if that's a date or not - I checked with my grandmother, and she says that several bottles have the same so she doubts that's a date.
