For Auction The Queen's Silver Jubilee Car Badge - Complete boxed Set in Mint Condition. Badge no 563 of 1000 issued. This is a limited edition badge issued to commemorate the Queen's Silver Anniversary. It was one of 1000 produced after which the dies were destroyed. The design was officially approved by the Lord Chamberlain's office. Procedes from the original sale of these badges went to the Queen's designated charity - The Silver Jubilee Appeal. The set on auction is fully complete as originally issued, comprising the badge itself, silk lined presentation box, the certificate, badge fitting instructions, the fittings and a small packet holding the fittings. The badge is made of chrome plated bronze and enameled. It is stamped 563 matching the certificate. It measures 90 by 115 mm and weighs nearly 300 gms. It is unusual to find a complete boxed set in this condition. The badge (front and rear) is in mint as is the presentation box which has no marks or any staining. The badge has never been mounted.
