WWII RAF Aircraft Clock Dated 1942 Full Working Order This RAF Aircraft clock is dated 1942 and in good working order. It is over 70 years old and will have seen wartime RAF or Commonwealth Air Force service. Printed on the dial is, "8 DAYS MK IIC REF No 6A/1104". Indented into the dial is the serial number and date, "10406/42" (/42 for 1942). The fixing plate at the rear of the case is marked "AM" for Air Ministry with a Crown. This clock can be fitted to any flat surface. All the case screws, 5 in total are present and original. It runs for about a week on a full wind and keeps good time. There is a regulator but I have never used it. The rear fixing plate is attached to the body by two screws, both of which are present and original. The brass bezel that holds the glass has a small crack but nothing serious. The glass is fair with one chip and two surface scratches, but no cracks. The case body is 2 inches long with access to the regulator which slides open as it should. I have never opened the case to look at the movement. The dial is 2 inches in diameter and both the dial and the hands are in fair condition. Any luminosity on the dial has long since faded & disappeared with age. The winding and time setting functions operate smoothly as they should. This clock was probably fitted to a wide variety of WWII RAF and Commonwealth read more
