You are bidding on one Randall & Bensen wood halving molding or moulding plane as pictured. It is marked "RANDALL & BENSEN ALBANY" on the front end, and "6" on the back end. Overall length is about 9-1/2", and the body is about 3/4" in width. The iron is marked "W BUTCHER".Samuel Randall and David Bensen were partners for a while in Albany, NY. Please see American Wooden Planes 4th Edition for more information about them, and it rates their planes as two stars for rarity.I can't tell if the profile is original to the plane, or if it was once a #6 hollow or round. It seems too narrow for even a #6, however. Condition is excellent, very crisp and reasonably clean, with one small gouge on the upper rear right side. SHIPPING MOULDING PLANES: The typical moulding plane will weigh a bit over one pound when boxed, and ships at the two pound rate. Within the US, that costs $11.20. But I can get 6 to 8 typical width moulding planes into one medium Priority Flat Rate box, and that costs $11.95 within the US. So the second plane ships for less than a dollar, and the next few after that ship for free. SHIPPING: 2 pounds when boxed. (see below if you are bidding outside the US) The queue is overflowing with tools right now, as they seem to be finding me faster than I can list them.
