RARE 1790-1800 CHILDS CUP DOG CAT BOY WOMAN NEAT! #1162 5 Day Auction--This is a very rare late 18th century to early 19th century, circa 1790-1800, child's mug or cup with a dark cobalt blue folksy transfer. T is no backmark. The cup measures 2" high x 2 5/8" in diameter at the rim. This transfer features an old women sitting on a stoop feeding her cat milk in a bowl while her dog watches. It looks like t is a basket of flowers in her lap. The other side has a vignette of a boy holding his cat possibly. T are neat designs all around the cup. This transfer has a great folksy style and the cup is somewhat crude by today's standards. T is an old crack, pictured, on the back and discoloration. The glaze is still shiny. I think the cup is wonderful but it is. It is a real collector's piece.
