This auction is for an antique high bed.. Came from an older Lancaster County Pennsylvania estate - found in the carriage house.. Exact age unknown but believe to be from the 1870's era.. Quality construction.. Solid and sturdy.. It appears the turnings and carvings are made of a hard walnut such as walnut because of the crisp sharp detail.. The body and siderails appear to be made of poplar because t are no signs of warping/bowing.. Poplar is a stable wood and was commonly used in this time period.. Original dark rich finish intact.. Wonderful craftsmanship with carved shaped crest, applique and turnings.. Beautiful tall turned finials on headboard and footboard.. Note the awesome tall turned legs on tapered feet.. Original siderails have cast iron hardware signed "Burrows".. Great design..Being offered at a low opening bid.. SIZE:: Headboard 66 1/2" high x 54" wideFootboard 34" high x 54" wideMattress size: 51 1/2" wide x 71" long I believe this is a 3/4 size bed.. CONDITION:: Overall good.. Solid and sturdy.. Original rich warm patina intact.. Finish shows some appropriate wear- mainly on footboard.. Side rails and footboard show some areas of finish loss but does not detract from uniqueness and beauty.. See photos for condition and details.. SHIPPING:: SHIPPING INFORMATION Please contact us for GUARANTEED SHIPPING QUOTE before
