I collect Japanese Samurai Swords, I am not a netsuke expert. I bought a few netsuke from an elderly gentleman when i purchased his swords. From what he told me this netsuke, and the others i am listing, were brought to this country in the 1930's, by his relatives, he told me the age was about turn of the century (1900). I have tried to do some research and checked some information others have posted on eBay, i am sure this is not any type of resin, i can see grain (the grain is very clear), the gentleman told me they are ivory and it appears that way to me. I will be happy to email additional pictures to anyone who asks (please give me your email address). This looks like a Dragon or Crocodile. The netsuke does not seem to be signed by the maker. It is apprx. 2" long, 1" wide. Hopefully the picture will give a good idea what i am selling. I can email additional pictures of anything you want to see.
