He used his knowledge to make beautiful lamps and tableware in many colors, as well as fine etched crystal. Kopp had developed Selenium Red earlier that met the railroad's signaling light standards, and it was very profitable as the railroad industry flourished. In 1903 the Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass Company (commonly called "Pilabrasgo") absorbed Dithridge & Company. The prosperity didn't last forever, and in 1926 Pilabrasgo went bankrupt.
