ITEM: This is a beautiful WWII era Imperial Japanese military sake cup in the shape of a hat. At frst I thought it was a pith helmet, until I noticed the ties on the back, and realized it was field cap. Inside reads JOTAI KINEN (Retirement Commemoration) and HO 38 (38th Infantry). The center writing is a poem about a heavy burden being complete and returning home. The base of the cup is a cherry blossom. It measures 2.25 inches in diameter.
