Rare bronze Tupu Eagle, Moon and Sun This auction is for an antique, andean hand hammered bronze tupu pin with colonial patterns like the moon the eagle the sun, bird, leafs a mix of indigenous and spaniard colonial style, in a gorgeous detailed work with beautiful purple ceramic work. That kind of Tupu was used since INCAS time by the women dressed kind of a tunic, of a single piece; on the shoulders and by way of layer the lliclla went (big mantel as blanket), subject to the neck for a tupu. And it was used by the feminine funeral bales holding the Illiclla. Has patina as you can see in the pictures and was made in the andean highlands of Peru . Some old andean peruvian women who lives in the highlands use the tupus in their typical costumes during their folkloric religious parties. Good condition and dated to the 30´s approximately.
