Welcome to my auction! I just purchased another 130 pieces of vintage Carnival Glass. Please check my other listings for items you might like! This auction is for a Green Carnival Glass Cruet. This is the "Buzz Star" pattern made by the Cambridge Glass Company in the early 1900's. It is unmarked. You can reference this pattern in the Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass, 10th Edition on page 48. First, let me say that on the Carnival Glass website, , two Carnival Glass experts say these Cruets are marked Near Cut on the inside , however I am unable to find the mark. This piece is unique in that it has a gold metal hang tag that reads B.P.O.E. #1 for the Elks as in some other Carnival Glass advertising. The Book lists the cruets with the hang tags as Rare, with a Book Value of $1000.00. This little Cruet has so much detail, it was a bear to photograph. I tried inside and outside, and I've examined it very closely under a magnifying glass. First, let me say that it is 4" tall with a shiny radium finish and good color. Now, for the nitty gritty. It is apparently blown instead of moulded, and has a pontil mark on the bottom. That mark has a few specks of a black substance, I believe it's felt, someone may have had a felt bottom on this at one time. The stopper is an octagon shape, with 8 panels on the top.
