The total length of this rare colored pipe is 17-3/4" long. The bowl measures 3-1/2" long by 3-1/4" tall. It is a hand-crafted piece, made out of a very rare and hard to find piece of steatite. This type of steatite is from an area that is next to impossible to get to with your typical land-based vehicles. This pipe represents one of the last small pieces of stone like this that we have. The pipe is shaped a little differently than our normal 'T' pipes, because, we wanted to waste as little stone as possible.The pipe is a traditional ceremonial plains style pipe. A pipe this size would normally make a good personal pipe for a single individual when they want to pray by themselves or it would be large enough to use in ceremonies. This pipe is signed by "Hapan". The stem is made out of California redwood and beaded in traditional Sioux style. The pipe is fully functional and would make a great ceremonial pipe or a personal pipe for prayer.
