Aloha! Up for sale with No Reserve from a Kona, Hawaii estate is a beautiful blue lei hulu feather lei! Perfect for your lauhala papale (hat). This Rare Hawaiian Lei measures approximately 23" L x 1.5" W. In the past, Lei Hulu (feather leis) were reserved for the Ali'i (royalty). They were an adornment and acknowledgement of nobility. Feathers were gatd from various birds such as the 'i'iwi, 'elepaio, 'apapane, and 'o'o. These were made into leis, cloaks, and helmets by selected crafts people.
