This lovely old bowl is really in pristine condition, it was never used, only displayed. It has the most beautiful Clematis flowers, painted as well as embossed all around the ruffled edge.It is large and deep, measuring 10.5inches edge to edge, and almost 3 inches deep. I am not an expert in porcelain or dishes, but this looks to me as probably an unmarked Bavarian or Austrian piece. I hope someone knows. ~ it really is a very unusual old piece. It is rare to find Clematis flowers, (my favorites) in a porcelain object, the other more common flowers are always used, but the Clematis evades the collector more than most other flowers. These exquisite flowers in different colors and stages of development are just lovely! The outside of the bowl reminds of the inside of a very delicate ocean shell. I paid almost 200 dollars for this bowl many years ago. Will ship within the continental US for 12 dollars insured, outside the US email for a quote.
