We will be listing a number of very nice pieces of decorative glassware and assorted other wonderful pieces over the next few weeks. These items belonged to the estate of a very particular and accomplished collector, and we are fortunate to have the privilige to list them for your consideration. I am certainly no expert on many of these pieces, but I will do my best to describe them properly and as accurately as possible. If you have any questions etc. please ask! I will endeavor to answer to the best of my ability. Good luck and Enjoy! Very rare Carter's Ink bottle! This Ma Carter's inkstand measures 3 3/4" in height. The bottom on both is stamped "Made in Germany" in a circle. This mark was used by the German firm of Heubach Bros. but it can't be confirmed the firm made these since the mark was also used by other companies. This piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or obvious repairs. The original cork fits nice and snug. T is some minor paint missing, but hardly worht mentioning. A little history.....Ma & Pa Carter Inx were originally advertised in the Saturday Evening Post of September 12, 1914. The ad read: "Mr. and Mrs. Carter Inx - the little porcelain inkstands that made such a hit last fall lead the Carter line and bring to your desk a personality that will be an inspiration".
