Listed is a very old MINT CONDITION Remington R3843 five-blade, six-function pocket knife. Remington made only three patterns with five blades. Remington did not make a knife with more than five blades. The R3843 has five blades and a corkscrew. The corkscrew is not considered a blade. The blades are as follows: spear, clip, cap lifter/screwdriver, can opener, and punch. All blades have a great snap both ways. This knife has the REMINGTON UMC logo inside the circle and MADE IN USA outside the circle. This dates the knife 1924-1933. This knife has outstanding brown bone handles. The front handle has the round REMINGTON UMC cartridge shield. This knife was originally owned by a Remington Company executive, employed by Remington for twelve years. He was said to have made the knife himself. When he left Remington, he purchased a general merchandise store in Kansas. As you can see in the pictures, he did not install a bail or blade etch. It has been my pleasure to have owned four old mint Bullet knives that belonged to this old gentleman, and none of the knives had the blade etch. This is an outstanding and one-of-a-kind, very rare, beautiful, and mint Remington knife. It is hard to believe that a knife can be this old and still retain its condition and beauty.
