This is a Rare Old Antique "Straus Gins" Chicago, ILL...."Old Crow" Stoneware Jug with side Handle....It measures 8 & 1/2 inches tall, the Base measures 3 inches in diameter, and the top opening measures 1 & 1/4 inches in diameter.....It has a Bulbous Shape......This is a "Very Old" Stoneware Jug....and Try as I could......(I searched all Over the Internet and on Ebay - and came up -Empty-).....I could not come up with "ANY" information on this Most Unusual Stoneware Jug - Other than the Information that is Marked on the Front of the Jug......I Acquired this Stoneware Jug about 20 Years ago, having discovered it at an Antiques Flea Market.....It has been in my Own Personal Collection since, and I am now slowly parting with many of my Antiques due to house downsizing......The Jug is definitely very old.....and it obviously is Very Rare as I have been unable to ever come up with "Any" information about this Stoneware Jug.......It has a Handle on the side....(see pictures) and it is a Cream/Tan Color Stoneware on the top, and a Dark Brown Stoneware on the Bottom.....THIS IS A gREAT UNUSUAL AND rARE sTONEWARE jUG TO ADD TO AN EXSISTING Collection....or to Start a New One....It's an Awesome Primitive Jug.......It is in Excellent Condition....with the Exception that the Straus Gins which is Lettered in what appears to be Gold Guilt Lettering read more
