This wonderful Victorian Revival reverse painted pin is artist signed "Lia" (not to be confused with the contemporary jewelry line Lianna), circa 1930s. Measures 2-1/4" in diameter (rather large) with a ribbed golden brass frame, four sets of double loop raised prongs, and a trombone style pin assembly,. Inside the frame is a heavy piece of clear lucite plastic that is 1/4" thick. The reverse painting features a beautiful Victorian lady dressed in pink and yellow, holding a red fan. She is surrounded by green grass and garden flowers (roses?) in vibrant shades of pink, set against a background of flowering trees and a pastel blue fence. The brass frame and prongs are showing a bit of soil in spots, but I havent cleaned or altered the piece in any way. The lucite has some mild surface scratches that are barely noticeable and not visible without a loupe. Most importantly, the hand painting is intact with only a bit of fading in a couple of spots. Truly an unusual piece! Shipping is $4.50 USPS first class insured with delivery confirmation.
