Description:Revell 1962 Chevy Impala SS Hardtop "California Wheels" 2n1. Kit # 4281. Made in China. 2011?. 1/25 ScaleWhen I was younger I had a 62 convertible. I've had an older AMT convertible kit for quite some time, it actually is a really nice kit, but this one is nicer! I mainly bought it for the tires & wheels. I have an idea to fit them to my AMT, I'll make it work! So this kit is complete with stock wheels & tires only. I've taken the optional tires & wheels, the disc brake wheel backs, and the disc brake decals. Everything else is complete. I did cut the decal sheet to remove the disc decals. I was also going to rob lots of the other stuff, but the Revell body is bit longer than the AMT, and the body trim is a bit wider, so it didn't seem like the stripes would fit. The Revell kit also used decals for all the body scripts & emblems and the dash as well. I bought this one at Michaels and the box top was a bit dented when I got it, the contents are fine.I gotta say this looks like a real nice kit, nice moldings, great decal sheet, 149 pieces. I wish it was the convertible, but the AMT will do for me.The issues with this kit are:Stock tires & wheels onlyNothing assembled or painted.I am listing all the kits I have for sale as USED as they have all been opened.I will pack it carefully (everything bagged & w/ a bit of packing) and ship USPS Priority Mail which includes tracking & $50 insurance.Sales & USPS Priority Mail to Continental US ONLY (unless requested). I was a fairly avid modeler as a kid, but when I got old enough to play with real cars, the models kinda lost my attention. Well here it is 50 some years later and I've gotten back into modeling in the past 2 years. I've been collecting and stashing away kits for some years now, because I knew that I'd want to get back into it one day. I have a closet full (probably 200+) and keep buying more. There seems to be no end to the kits I want! I have the intention to build them all, but it's not likely I will.When it comes to a new kit I'm like a kid at Christmas. I just have to open them to see what's inside. If it's an older kit I'll go through and bag up any loose items like tires and glass. Nothing worse than a nice kit with tire marks melted into the glass! I'll check for broken or missing parts if I can, I have had factory sealed kits come with missing parts! I usually won't open any sealed bags inside unless I notice something, I always take a pretty good look. I'll usually cut the shrink wrap from the bottom of the box and carefully tape the plastic to the box top.I have more kits than I can possibly build, so I need to weed some out and make room for other more desirable ones. The ones I don't get to my grandson will inherit, so I really can't have too many, it's a matter of available space to store them all. I have quite a few duplicate kits, and lots of them I will be kit bashing and selling the remainders. There won't be all that many, a small bunch to start, and just a few every now and then as I get to them, so check back every once in a while. I'll try to keep the prices & shipping (at cost) reasonable. To me it seems outrageous the prices kits are going for these days, especially the older kits. But that's the times I guess. When I was a kid (in the 60's) car kits were $2-3, now their $25-30! Yikes! I've paid more for a few "vintage" kits of cars I had than I paid for the real car!
