This is a late 19th / early 20th cntury American roll top desk by the Revell & Co. 5th Ave. & Randolph St., Chicago. I'm not sure of the actual age of the desk. Measures: 60" wide. 36" deep. desk top 30 1/2" w/ a 1/4" custom cut glass. back 43 9/16 " high The roll top works smoothly. If you need to place your computer on this desk a small hole has been cut for the wires. The hole is seen in one of the pictures just under the drawers on the left hand side. You will also notice a picture that was taken from above so you can see the design of the drawers. On the left t are 3 drawers plus a flat the piece of wood that extends from the desk top. On the right a small drawer on top then a deeper drawer for standing files. This desk is in remarkable shape considering the age. T are some marks of course and the only "ding" is shown in one of the pictures and is located on the left hand corner. Desk located in SE Iowa I have taken a few of the drawers to cabinet makers in SE Iowa to find out what kind of wood the desk is made of and they did not believe it was oak or walnut and really was not sure of the wood. I took it to ONE antique dealer and that persons OPINION of the wood is maple. I am traveling tomorrow through Kalona, Iowa and I will take the drawers to a couple more antique dealers to get their OPINION. This is an extremely heavy read more
