Royal Doulton Character Jug - Mad Hatter D 6790 Small - Higbee's Ltd. Ed. of 500 Large and small size of Mad Hatter jugs were produced in this colorway ( yellow) in 1987 for Higbee's Department Store in Cleveland, Ohio to commemorate the second anniversary of its first royal Doulton showroom.Modeler: Max Henk Size: Small, Height: 3 3/4 inches Dormouse above pocket watch handle 1987 limited edition of 500 Commissioned by Higbee Co. Made in England Sold without its original certificate, without a box.This previously displayed character jug is sold in very good conditions by the American Toby Jug Museum in Evanston IL. The Museum is showcasing the largest collection of Toby and Character jugs in the world, including many rare and unique jugs within the complete Royal Doulton collection, jugs by Ralph Wood, Enoch Wood, Thomas Wheildon, John Astbury and other early Potters from Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Portobello Areas. Also featured is perhaps the finest collection of French Majolica figural jugs in North America. On display are over 8,000 pieces illustrating their evolution from inception c. 1765 to the present day.
