ROYAL DOULTON GEORGE WASHINGTON LIMITED EDITION CHARACTER JUG D6965 Very colorful Royal Doulton character jug of our First President is D6965, issued in 1995 as part of the Presidents Series. This example is 7” high and it is #396 in an edition that was limited to 2500. This jug has a special handle, featuring an axe and a branch from a cherry tree, and a piece of partially rolled parchment on which is written “To the memory of the Man, first in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen.” Made in England and marked as shown, the jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. I have about a dozen nice large Doulton jugs that I am listing tonight, and I am happy to combine shipping on multiple auction wins.
