Royal Winton Grimwades Ltd Chintz Balmoral Art Deco Modernist Candy Box Tray Set I just purchased this vintage Grimwades LTD. candy / trinket box and tray set from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The three pieces were produced as one of the many popular "chintz" patterns done under Grimwades' Royal Winton trade name. This "Balmoral" set is pattern No. 374, which was introduced in 1951 and quickly became a favorite of chintz collectors. The pieces are decorated with a striking Modernist design with tightly arranged stylized flower blossoms and foliage against a jet black ground. The transfers show rich color and fine detail throughout. The box measures 5 �" long, 3 �" deep and 2 �" high, the trays are 4 �" long and 3 �" wide. The trays bear the "ROYAL WINTON GRIMWADES MADE IN ENGLAND" circle mark, the box has the "Royal Winton MADE IN ENGLAND A" line mark. All three pieces are in very good condition with no damage. There are some scattered fine craze lines on the undersides, no staining or discoloration. This striking set would make a nice addition to any collection of vintage Royal Winton chintz or Art Deco inspired d�cor.
