Here are three pieces of classic American mid-century ceramic tableware: A Russel Wright Steubenville American Modern teapot, a cup and a saucer, in yellow green chartreuse. The teapot is a darker tone than the cup and saucer. It is marked on the bottom with the RusselWright signature and Steubenville. The "Wright" is less legible on the bottom of the saucer. You can read "ville" on the bottom of the saucer, but not the first part of the name. There are no discernible marks on the bottom of the saucer. The teapot is about 5 inches tall, 8 inches from the handle to spout, and about 15 inches in circumference measured between the handle and under the spout. It weighs about 1 pound, 3 ounces. The saucer is 6 inches across. The tea cup is 2 inches tall and about 4 1/2 inches from the outer rim to the handle's end. The cup and saucer together weigh 13 ounces. These mid-century pieces are showing their age. The cup and saucer are in great shape for vintage, with some wear and slight surface scratching, as you'd expect. There are some pin pricks along the cup rim, but the pieces have no chips, cracks, fractures, crazing or flea bites. The teapot lid has a hairline fracture that runs from the top into the lid interior and two chips that are under its rim and can't be seen when it's on the teapot.
