Struck from 1 oz silver .999 UNC, the coin is a unique combination of black and gold: it's plated with black ruthenium and 24K gold! The issue limit is 2 000 pieces.The traditional obverse of the Russian coin features the State Emblem of the Russian Federation with the inscription of the issuing bank name below it. Along the rim of the coin, there are the legends denoting the face value of the coin, its metal fineness and issuing year.To achieve the unusual black surface of the coin, it was coated with silver-gray ruthenium, one of the platinum metals that looks like platinum but is rarer. The reverse depicts Saint George slaying the dragon; the motif itself has been used for many centuries on state symbols, stamps and coins. St George is one of the most venerated saints often depicted with a dragon or some other serpentine creature under his feet.
