You are bidding on a beautiful 1935 Maiden Voyage bronze medallion issued for the ship M/S PRESIDENT DOUMER by the Messageries Maritimes, France-based shipping company. This 2 5/8" (appx. 1/8" in thickness) diameter bronze medallion was issued to celebrate the Maiden Voyage of the M/S PRESIDENT DOUMER. She was built by Soc. Provencale de Construction Nav., La Ciotat, France and was launched January 22, 1933. She was 492' overall with a 64' beam, 11,898 tons, and intended for the Messageries Maritime French Colonial Service to the Far East via the Suez Canal.
