Salviati Moser Antique Art Glass Chamapgne Flute Dolphin Stem Male Nudes Decor From a recent estate sale In have up in this auction an antique(around 1880-1890) cobalt blue art glass champagne flute hand blown by the famous Salviati art glass family of Venice, Italy. It was hand designed, enameled and gold gilded by the equally famous Moser art glass company in Carlsbad Bohemia. This stunning piece bears a dolphin stem lavishly flecked with gold aventurine. The dolphin has applied eyes. On the bottom of the stem base there is a rough pontil. Around the entire piece there is gold gilding, beaded colorful enameling and an applied design of dancing male neoclassical style nudes. In the late 19 th century Salviati sent many of their art glass creations to Moser to enamel, gild and design. What makes this this very rare is the combination of a figural creature stem with enameled art work. Measurements are about 7 7/8"T X 2 1/2"W (edge to edge) This flute is in very good condition, it has some gold wear about 10% -15%,and scratches at its base. The dolphin stem has a rough flaw spot. That being said I do not see any chips cracks or repairs to this magnificent piece . An art glass masterpiece which combines the effort of two renowned art glass companies.
