I offer an original specimen of one of the most sought after maps of North America. It is the very large map of Sanson Jaillot entitled: "AMERIQUESEPTENTRIONALE divisée en ses principales parties ou sont distingués les unsdes autres LES ETATS SUIVANTS qu'ils appartiennent presentement aux FRANCOIS, CASTILLANS, ANGLOIS, SUEDOIS, DANOIS, HOLLANDOIS, tirees de toutes ces nations par le S.Sanson, Geographe du Roy, Presentée A MONSIEUR LE DAUPHIN par son tres humble, tres obeissant et tres fidele serviteur Hubert Jaillot" Its dimensions are circa 55 cm x 88 cm; it has been printed on 2 plates. Note the exceptional colors, with gold and silver, which render this huge map of an extreme decorative character. Such colors, usually, were used for the maps of very rich persons. The map is in general in a good state. T have been several repairs. Note that the shipping costs to USA will be 60 usd, as it has to be sent as a pack.
