Pablita Chavarria (1914-1979)is one of the best and most well-known of the older (pre-1925) generation of Santa Clara potters, which includes potters like Margaret and Camilio Tafoya, Teresita Naranjo, Mary Cain, Clara Suazo and Madeline Tafoya. Pablita was the mother of Millie Chavarria, Elizabeth Naranjo, Mary Singer, Clara Shije, Reycita Naranjo, Florence Browning and Joe Chavarria. She is also the grandmother of Denise, Joey and Sunday Chavarria. The bowl is approximately 2-1/2" high and 2-3/4" wide. It has a series of designs on it. The only one I can identify is kiva steps. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or scuffs and very minor wear for its age. Unlike most pots, Pablita took the time and trouble to slip and polish the inside as well as the outside (see picture #3). The painting is clean and precise with clear borders of the design elements. The pot is signed Pablita Santa Clara Pueblo. Please look at the pictures, which are part of the item description. The pot will be well packaged and shipped to you by USPS Priority Mail for United States customers. Please contact me for shipping costs to other countries. Insurance is optional but the buyer takes the risk of loss or breakage if insurance is declined. Please check my other listings of fine and interesting pottery from the Santa Clara and San Ildefonso
