SCA Helm Armet with Two face plates ! total quality This is a very well made 14ga mild steel Armet style helm for SCA heavy list. It comes complete with both a period 14ga solid "bug face" visor and a heavy wire grill buff for sport fighting. I personally copied this from a 14th century example in Nurenburg. I have been fighting in this style for 15 years, this version incorporates all the modifications I have made over that time. Overall this is quite a sturdy SCA grade helm.The helm is 8 inchs side to side at the ears, but very small at the neck. This is a close fit for most full size men, but it is designed to fit close to the head with minimum, firm, padding. I am 6' 2" 7 3/8 hat size and I made it to fit me. NOTE! As is, the two period style buttons secure the visor to the helm but I recomend adding a secondary safety tie or lanyard. I can assist in padding and rigging for wear. No chin strap is needed as the cheek peices close under the neck. A camail is almost manditory as it is very difficult to fit a gorget to this style helm. I will discount any camail $50 with this helm. This is a brand new helm.
