This Union Pacific SW-9 Switcher and unpowered calf is 30-35 years old. They say "MADE IN ITALY" on the bottom. I think these are hard to find. I bought them new. Shortly after that I quit railroading because of a move. They have been packed away since. I am selling all my N-Scale, so check back often. The calf unit may have been a powered unit at one time. It has the same heavy chassis as the engine. There is no electric motor or drive gears now. Also the calf does not seem to roll freely. The visual details are very prominent and defined. Not too dirty. The switcher engine is a little more worn, shows more dirt and dust, and the front retaining clip for the body is broken. The dusty effect adds realism. This engine runs both ways, but at mid-throttle, it hesitates intermittently, It may also be a little slow. You can see from the pictures the body is lifted a little at the front because of the missing clip. Only one railing is broken and you might not even see it but it is the left rear hand railing on the engine. The road number on both units is D.S. 1870. Check out the pictures! These units are good for parts, or with a little work they could be real nice! SELLING "AS IS" because of unsure mechanical condition. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION, so the last bidder wins.
