This auction is for one (1) Harder-to-find JOSIAH JONSONS JAPAN WRITING FLUID STONEWARE TEAKETTLE INK BOTTLE! This ink bottle is in fairly good condition -- nothing at all wrong, except chip on back panel "FLUID". Still legible, but bottom left of panel is affected. Remarkably, the rest of this bottle is near mint. Embossed on each of (6) panels: JOSIAH/JONSONS/JAPAN/WRITING/ FLUID/ LONDON Gorgeously colored piece of 120+ year old pottery! In beautiful hues of golden and light red/brown glazes -- stunning! I am listing additional inks and bottles in my other auctions -- check 'em out! The value is affected by the chip on this one, ( the lip is perfect on this one) but definitely not the display! This is one to acquire, own and enjoy, and wait for that elusive pristine version to trade up! Great piece of tangible history! Incredibly hard-to-come-by for the collector of inks and stoneware pieces, -- a definite requisite for collectors of antique stoneware/pottery, vintage inks/teakettle inks, and historical treasures in general. Low starting price and no reserve make this one you just can't afford to pass by! This wonderfully solid piece of pottery measures approximately 2 1/2"h.
