You are bidding on....the SCARCE 131 year-old Early American Pattern Glass PEDESTAL CAKE STAND / PLATE / SALVER from East Liverpool Glass Company c.1882....in their pattern known as "East Liverpool". It measures 9 1/2" in diameter x 6 1/2" high x 5 1/8" across the base....and features a BEAD and SWIRL DESIGN on the underside of the plate.....as well as a BRANDY WELL in the center of the plate that even has its own bead in the bottom! It's in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with just some light wear on the plate, as well as on the BELL-shaped BASE. There are the usual old mould marks from the glassmaking process, like bubbles, straw marks (large one on base), swirls/striations, and unique moulding anomalies; all characteristics inherent to antique glass. There is a small open bubble on the inner rim, and the lower rim has an area approximately 1 1/4" long that looks like it did not fill completely in the mould; as seen in the last two pictures. The pedestal features a SIX (6) SIDED COLONIAL PANEL-style that rests on the Bell-shaped BASE. A VERY UNIQUE and SCARCE pattern glass treasure that will make an impressive display on your dining table. Ground shipping (insured with tracking).
