OFFERED is a RARE set of 9 Vintage SCHUMANN BAVARIAN Dresdener Art DESSERT or CAKE Plates consisting of one large serving plate approximately 11 inches in diameter and 8 smaller plates of approximately 7 and 1/2 inches in diameter. All have a scalloped Gold Trim and open "Lattice" Rim ( Please see photos ) with brilliantly painted flowers in various colors. Across the plates are an embossed gold cross making four sections and in two of those sections are a bucolic scene of a mid 18th Century man and woman in upper class dress and in the other two sections there is a portrait of a rose in bloom in one and a corsage of colorful flowers in the other. These latter two sections have a background of magnicent royal blue. ( please look at the photos ) The smaller plates are pristine. The large serving plate shows some wear on the bottom and gold trim on the edge has worn off ( again, please look at the photos.
