Pete acquired this knife back in the late 60's. As you can see, it was used, but not by him. As shown in the pictures, the blade does have minor scratches that could probably be buffed out. They are not as deep as the pictures show. The choil is still crisp and Pete thinks the factory edge is still on this knife. The blade is 6 inches and the overall knife is 10 3/8 inches. It is marked 'Schrade-Walden N.Y. USA' on the right side and '150T Pat.Pend.' on the left side. The sheath is leather with stamping on the front side and is laced together. The lacing at the bottom of the sheath is loose. As far as Pete knows, everything on this knife is original. This knife has the signature of baseball great Ted Williams inscribed on the blade. Ted Williams signed a contract with Sears in the early 60's for hunting, fishing and sports equipment to carry his name. Williams was a two-time American League Most Valuable Player (MVP) winner, led the league in batting six times, and won the Triple Crown twice. He had a career batting average of .344, with 521 home runs, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966. He is the last player in Major League Baseball to bat over .400 in a single season (.406 in 1941). Williams holds the highest career batting average of anyone with 500 or more home runs.
