Beautiful figurine from ZSZ in Nove Bassano, Italy. Her soft peach colored dress is covered with small bouquets of red/blue/yellow flowers. She is holding a large basket of flowers in one hand, and a nosegay in the other. The detail in this figure is astonishing. The flowers are all applied by hand and hand painted as of course is all the other painting and the facial features exquisitely done.She measures: 9" high, 8" wide, 5" depth Condition - There a small nip to the underside of one leafFrom a famous art pottery studio located in the town of Nove Bassano (a famous center for Italian pottery) near Vicenza, Italy called "Ceramiche ZSZ" which stands for Zanolli, Sebelin, Zarpellon, the principal ceramic artists when the company was founded in 1921. Although, of the three, the driving force behind this studio was Sebelin.That's his signature (or possibly a facsimile stamped signature) on the base, which reads "T Sebelin". He was the artist who created the original sculpture from which this model was made. His full name was Teodoro Sebelin (1890 - 1975). Through his artistic genius Ceramiche ZSZ reached a peak of artistic excellence in the 1930s. In 1946, after the devastation of WWII Sebelin picked up the pieces and became sole proprietor from that date until he died in 1975 but the post-war period never regained the successes of read more
