For bid isa scarce, original 1933 University of California Ramblers versus College of thePacific Tigers FOOTBALL game official souvenir program from the game played Friday, September 29, 1933. This was the SECOND game AMOS ALONZO STAGG coached as Pacific Tigers head coach! The “Grand Old Man” of football was forced to retire from coach at the University of Chicago after the 1932 season so he headed west to coach the COP Tigers instead of retiring to the good life! This was probably his first home game coached at Stockton, California! The program has eight pages of photographs, rosters, some advertising, a chart of referee signals and lineups of the two teams. The University of California Ramblers was the UC / Cal junior varsity squad in 1933. Several good Cal bears were on this team, including brothers Jack and Robert “Bob” Brittingham. Many of these men were later promoted to the varsity team. This is a terrific piece of California football history. Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever.
