This set of .999 pure silver collector medals commemorates the 200th Anniversary of the Inauguration of George Washington, the first President of the United States, and the 200th Anniversary of the passage of the Bill of Rights by the First Congress of the United States. On Apri/30, 1789, George Washington took the oath of office as the first President of the United States on the balcony of Federal Hall in New York City. This special moment in history is handsomely portrayed on the front of this medal which contains one ounce of .999 fine silver with a proof flnish. On September 25, 1789, another historic moment in our history took place when the Bill of Rights was passed by the First Congress of the United States and then presented to the States for ratification. The Bill of Rights was written to specifically safeguard individual rights. Ten of the initial twelve amendments Passed by Congress were ratified by the States on December 15, 1791. This commemorative medal, showing the creation of the Bill of Rights and the date of passage, contains one ounce of .999 Fine Silver with a proof finish.
