Item description by Elyse Andrews... Artist, woodworker and co-proprietor of the SnowSource General Store:Hand-crafted works of art, unique and one of a kind. Years ago I saw signs like these hanging in the great room of an Adirondack style ski house on Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine. But I was never able to find a set for myself so I decided to make them on my own. I make them out in the SnowSource barn. I cut each set from a single length of rough milled pine that I hand picked at a local sawmill. As a result, each sign in a set has the exact same dimensions. And the beautiful saw markings that are left on the wood as part of the milling process are consistent from sign to sign. I sand, paint, antique and wax them all by hand. Each sign is approximately 14" x 14" x 1" thick with a saw-toothed hanger on the back. Looks can be deceiving! They look and feel old, rustic, weatd, antique, whatever you want to call them. But they are actually brand new, so they have a lifetime of use left in them. The wood may cup a bit and have a nick, knot or flaw and t, but that only adds to the look and feel of the signs and won't affect how beautiful they look hanging on your wall. They can be hung indoors or outside. However, if you plan to hang them in a place exposed to the weather, I suggest that you apply a coat of exterior primer to the back read more
