This is an old Seth Thomas 30 hour cottage or shelf clock made some time between 1865 and 1890. I know this because the label and movement is signed Seth Thomas, Thomaston Conn. Clocks made pre 1865 were signed Plymouth Hollow but they changed the name in 1865 to honor Seth Thomas after his death. This clock has a beautiful wood case with a neat original finish. This clock is all original including the painting of a rose, the beautiful wavy glass, the movement, pendulum, dial, and the very nice label. This clock comes with a key but the key is not the original. This clock has been professionally cleaned, mainsprings greased, and pivots oiled. This is one of my best running clocks and it is ready for another 100 years of service. This clock strikes on the hour on a very nice sounding gong. Seth Thomas clocks are by no means the rarest like the Brewster but their quality and sales always made Seth Thomas clocks some of the most popular of the Great American clocks. Clock will be professionally packed for shipping to insure no damage.
