Vintage c1938 Carlo Scarpafor Venini "Corroso" Red Murano Bowl Up for auction is a wonderful estate find: a vintage 1930s signed Murano Glass Bowl by Carlo Scarpa for Venini & Co. It has a rounded rectangular form and measures 4-1/8" long by 3-1/4" wide by 2-1/4" high. The thickly cast glass features a textured ("corroso" or corroded) exterior with a smoothly polished interior. The rounded rim looks to have random small scratches, but I believe these are an overflow from the exterior texture. The bowl is acid-etched on the base within the polished pontil area with a 3-line mark: Venini Murano Italia Condition: Excellent, with a beautiful translucent color and no chips or cracks.
