An extremely rare and highly important Indian silver mounted wood Sefer Torah case (Tik), Beit-El synagogue Calcutta , 1888. The case is covered outside with silver sheets chased with floral ornaments and bears a dedication in Hebrew. Inside a written dedication in Hebrew to the top. The top is shaped like an Indian Shrine. Good condition with good signs of age and use, dents, few holes, needs some polishing. Can take a Sefer Torah up to 45cm / 17.7in. Height: 64cm / 25.2oz.
