This is a RARE Simpson Bobby Labonte #18 Joe Gibbs Racing, Hunts Ketchup 2005 Busch Series Pit Crew Shirt. It has Dave P. labeled in the Shirt as his Crew member. The tag says Size XL inside. It also has buttons up the front to close, with a pocket on the left side. Comes with COA! Bobby Labonte currently drives the #47 Toyota Camry for JTG-Daugherty Racing. He and his brother Terry Labonte are the only brothers to have both won the championship in NASCAR'S top series. As of 2008, Bobby Labonte is the only driver to have won both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship (2000) and the NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship (1991). He also won the IROC title in 2001. For several years, Bobby was known as the driver of the #18 Interstate Batteries "Green Machine" for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Cup Series. He also drove part time for Gibbs in the Busch/Nationwide Series and back in 2005, he drove in severn of that season's Busch/Nationwide races. for two of those races, at Charlotte and Bristol, his Chevy was sponsored by Hunts Ketchup/ConAgra Foods/Van Camps as it circled the track. This is a Simpson Hunts Ketchup Pit Crew Shirt. It features various embroidered sponsor logos. I'm not sure if it was worn in a race but was intended to be so it is still considered to be race-authentic, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Normally, less than a dozen race suits are produced for drivers and crew members each year. In addition, many of the authentic suits end up either displayed in the race shops or given to primary sponsors as gifts, making them nearly impossible to acquire, and arguably the most sought after item for any racing collector or fan. From the moment that the pit crews are allowed into the pits just after sunrise to the instant that the checkered flag flies, more items are used during race day than one can imagine. Throughout the event, these race-used items are put to use for their intended purpose, whether it be for photos or for protecting the pit crew from injury. However, once the haulers start to pull out of the pits and fans head for the exits, everything that was used at the race becomes a collectible and sought after by fans. The hunt for race-used memorabilia ranges from finding items like a part off of a car to the highly prized driver uniform. What makes these collectibles rare is the role that they once played in a race. Whether it's a car part from a race-winning car or the fire suit off of the pit crew's back. These collectibles were once part of race day action! Adding to the prestige of the items is the fact that not too many fans are able to include the pieces to their personal collections. Many times items are either stored at a team's facilities or donated to sponsors. But, Joe Gibbs Racing has released this RARE Crew Shirt. This Crew Shirt does not specify if it is flame resistant or not. This Crew Shirt will come with a Certificate of Authenticity with anti-counterfeit features. Remember these Crew Shirts are in race-used condition. So, this would mean that it was used in an actual race and could show the effects of it. It could be a bit dirty and worn, but that's just the way they come from the track after the race is over and the crew is done, although this shirt looks pretty good.
