Hard to find and priced just reduced to sell,Limited Edition Nasa Skylab fragment of it's oxygen supply tank in a lucite dome cylinder measuring 2 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches.Skylab was America's first manned orbiting laboratory launched from J.F.K. Space Center in Florida on May 14,1973.Hundreds of experiments were done there before it was abandoned and crashed back to earth on July 11, 1979 in Kalgoorie,Australia.Skylab crashed from a height of 270 miles at a speed of 16,500 mph reaching a temperature of 2300 degrees F. During it's six year life,it traveled 960,000,000 miles and 34,981 orbits.This project cost exceeded 2.6 billion dollars.This specimen is authenticated inside dome with a three page lllustrated folder with a picture of Skylab in orbit on the cover that includes a copy of a letter from Nasa authenticating the fragment,a picture of Pete Conrad and a copy of a letter from Conrad describing the Skylab missions.This collectible was won from a local radio station WCLS years ago(WCLS sticker is still on the bottom of this cylinder).I did a little research and i found only one on Ebay and the very few others were at professional auction houses with most already auctioned off.If you are interested I'm asking you to do your own research and see what these Limited Editions of Skylab debris sealed in lucite collectibles are selling read more
