For auction is one of the Socony toppers from the third series produced in late 1934 and 1935. This topper is in good condition with some blemish on the front legs and chest area. With this topper you receive a copy of the second printing of my booklet " Socony-Vacuum License Plate Markers - History and Descriptions ", John David (Dave) Reynolds. It has pictures of 42 different "Pegasus" license toppers from the USA, Australia, and New Zealand. Included are pictures of originals, reproductions and period advertising. At least once each month a reproduction license topper is sold on ebay as an original. If you collect Socony-Vacuum (Mobil) toppers you will find this a handy reference to differentiatte the originals from the reproductions. A table of prices from auctions and swap meets over the past three years is included. Differences in each topper are noted and front and back views give additional information to assist in identification.
