(88green88) New ways of generating energy have been in focus for years but with the rising energy cost of recent times not just scientist are extremely interested in Stirling engine technology. The Stirling engine has a theroretical 40% greater efficiency than photo-voltaic panels. This particular Stirling engine was developed by ourselves for demonstration purposes and it has been optimized over years to work at extremely low temperature differentials. When placed on top of a cup of coffee, the engine demonstrates with just one spin of the flywheel how much energy is contained in the cup. The engine even runs from the heat of a human hand and it will run in reverse, when cooled (i.e. with an ice cube). In addition, this engine works in "Solar Mode" when placed into sunshine or any other bright light. A Stirling engine works by cyclically heating and cooling the air in the main chamber. Expansion and contraction of the fully enclosed chamber drives the power piston and flywheel which again drives the large displacer piston inside the main chamber. The displacer piston shifts the air from the warm side of the chamber to the cool side and back again. Even television reported about the fascinating CarlAero stirling engine design.
