Old Civil War veteran medal - in "as found" - uncleaned condition. Old 1880 SONS of G.A.R VETERAN medal with a U.S. flag ribbon. The 1 cent coin is for size comparison purpose - and not for sale. Nice old medal - appears all original with no damage - besides the stains on the ribbon, which appear to be glue remnants (stains). I do not know much about the SONS of G.A.R. VETERANS - but looked on the internet - and there appears to be tons of info on this organisation!! I guess they had encampments - and were orgasnized much like their fathers organisation- the GRAND ARMY of the REPUBLIC VETERANS!!
