A south american Spanish Colonial 18th century resplendor, or a halo or crown. Its exact provenance is unclear, probably stemming originally from the ViceRoyalty of Peru. The silverwork is of fine craftmanship, though the actual purity of the silver has not been tested, nor its weight verified. The piece appears to have had various sympathetic repairs over the years, with period studs holding some of the stars or rays. There is a small tear in the silver (pictured), and there is a period repair attempting to hold this together. Overall though, the piece gives an appearance of brightness. An expertly crafted repousse piece, part of a private collection. It is a private individual and collector selling this piece as is. I am happy to answer any further questions. Dimensions: 13cms inside from inner round in the width 27cms cms from tip of star from tip of star in the width 23 cms from top star to bottom of resplendor
