This heartwarming figurine, handcrafted in fine porcelain by Lladro in Spain, showcases the tenderness a young girl feels for her animal companions. She cradles a sleeping newcomer in the bend of her arm and cautions her gentle spaniel to be silent. The figure, entitled "Cat Nap" and Factory-Numbered 5640, was originally issued in 1990 and presently remains open. The figurine, sculpted by Lladro's master artist Juan Huerta, is exquisitely executed, even to the drapery of the girl's celadon-hued nightgown, the feminine spill of her hair across her shoulders, and the sweetness in her face. The figure stands 5-1/2-inches tall and measures 4-inches wide by 3-inches deep. The blue hallmark reads, "Lladro CKM 19 Hand Made in Spain (c) Daisa 1989," and the hand-incised marks of the various artists appear, as well. The impressed Factory Number is "5640." The condition of this quality estate find is absolutely flawless, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The original factory box is not available. No Reserve with a reasonable minimum bid.
